Current FTools development (V5)

A 2-years investment !

FTools V5 Main expected Features:

  • Graphical composition of the layout
  • Items (Seats and Others) Data and IFL database
  • Less (if not “No”) excel interactions
  • ⮱ therefore, it’s worth it even for A350

FTools V5 breakdown

FTools V5 can be decomposed into 5 main modules :

  • ACPitcher: Geometry kernel and Graphical interface for layouting
  • ACLcids: Seats and generic items IFL management (scale, interpolation, alignment)
  • SeatsDB: Items (seats and others) data and IFLs storage.
  • FTools: Calculation kernel
  • Ftools Wapp: graphical interface wrapping all that stuff

For now (V5+), ACPitcher is fully independant from FTools:

IFLs handling

Module in charge of scaling, interpolating and aligning IFLs according to Aircraft Loads.

SeatsDB is a ACLcids’s sub-module.

SeatsDB

A database containing already used items.

For now: 256 Items (inc. Seats and Shells) - (Recaro, Safran and BE-Aerospace)

All the items in DB are the ones found in:

  • COI
  • Shadow
  • 28J
  • 48J
  • A350

Format

Items are stored as Excel files, in an extended V5 format, featuring 4 tabs:

  • item: item’s metadata
  • acc: Accelerations labels
  • item_loads: well… item loads
  • item_geom_points: item’s geometry

SeatsDB CLI

  seatsdb interacts with Seats Database. Several commands are provided.

Options:

  check-ifls     Check provided IFLs against mass and accelerations
  clear          clear (delete) data for provided options
  collect        parse S2 sources for provided options and ensure that S3...

  search         search seats for provided options
  stats          a few statistics

IFLs checks

A native IFLs checker is included in database. It compares theoretical reactions against input IFLS.

Expected reactions are calculated (Imp. units):

  • Fx = Ax ⋅ (IFLw+170ω+20ρ)
  • Fy = Ay ⋅ (IFLw+170ω+20ρ)
  • Fz = Az ⋅ (IFLw+170ω+20ρH)

where:

  • ω: actual seat occupency
  • ρ: maximum seat occupency
  • H: 0 if accelerations are downward, else 1
